Really good brewery. During my visit, they offered a hotdog flight which was really tasty! Limited offering, so not part of the main food menu. Brewery was cool to see while going to the upstairs gamers lounge.
this was our second time here and we loved it again. The beer is great we had the orbit IPA, a hazy IPA it was delicious. The food is fantastic as well, had the wings with brussels and a yummy farm raised beef burger with beets and goat cheese. (no bun in the picture). food is great
Crikey! Platypus is awesome beer and food mates! Chill industrial space with nice outdoor seating. Wide selection of tasty beer...Out of Orbit Hazy nice and fruity crisp, Kiss My Piney is a nice dank IPA without being overwhelming. Our chiko rolls with sauce were tasty and sauce has a nice kick. Brussels would have been better if not sauteed whole. Fish ‘n chips with malt vinegar top notch. Knowledgeable attentive staff, patrons discussing international sports while March Madness was in TV, everyone really laid back. On top for Down Under!

Platypus Brewing is a bloody rippa of a pub! Their Bobby Dazzler, a crisp Australian Blonde Ale with honey and Topaz hops, and Freckled Dingo, a refreshing lemony pale ale, are standout beers. The Australian flair shines through in the vibe and menu—think Aussie-inspired pub grub. Great patio, friendly staff, and a fun, laid-back atmosphere. Highly recommend
Found this on my morning run while visiting Houston. Went there to watch Germany vs Scotland, which was on all TVs. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Had the fish and chips, but they were fries instead of chips and seasoned with something that wasn't necessary. Good beers with a wide selection. Loved the Australian references. Good music. I'll definitely visit again.
Great brewpub. Owner was there chatting with customers. Great in house breaded fish and chips! Outstanding beers. “Out of Orbit” IPA is off the chart awesome! Love places like this with their own idea, their own theme and their own in house brews!
If you like food variety, beers that taste different from typical brews, and a laid back space you can drink at for hours this is the spot. I love their Wednesday steak night, the fish and chips special on Friday is OUTSTANDING and all day Happy Hour on Tuesdays is a no brainer. I’m going to have to come back for their trivia night soon to see what the vibe is like. Highly recommend, owners are very hands on and bar staff are knowledgeable about all things beer. Will definitely be back! Cheers
